Welfare Schemes
Social Women's & Scheduled Castes Welfare Department : The social, women's & Sch. Caste Welfare Department H.P. is implementing different welfare schemes for the welfare of Sch. Caste / Sch. Tribe & other Backward Classes, women's destitute and disabled persons in the State as per detailed given below :-

1. Sch. Caste/Sch. Tribe & Other Backward Classes

i) Housing Subsidy : Under the scheme the Department is granting Rs. 8000/- for new construction and a sum of Rs. 4000/- for the repair of house to the persons belongs to SC/ST, OBC subject to the condition that the Persons have a piece of land for construction of house and total annual income should not more than 11,000/.

ii) Follow-up Programme : Under the scheme subsidy upto a sum of Rs. 800/- is granted for the purchase of Sewing Machine and other Professional tools.

iii) Construction/Pavment of Streets and Drinking Water Supply Scheme (D.W.S.S) in Schduled Caste Basties : Under this scheme the department is granting full cost of work to the Panchayats as per estimates received from the concerned Panchayats for the construction / Pavment of streets and Drinking Water Supply Scheme in SC Basti.

iv) Inter Caste Marriage Award : Under the scheme the department is granting a sum of Rs. 25000/- to the persons belonging to  Non Sch. Caste Category and marry with the Persons belongs to Sch. Caste category (where untouchability prevaile) as Intercaste Marriage Award.

v) Scholarship to the children whose Parents are engaged in unclean occupation : The department is providing scholarship to the children of those persons who are engaged in unclean occupation (i.e tanner Dyers, Flayer / sweepers) upto Matric.

2.  Social Welfare

i) Oldage Pension : Under this scheme Department is providing Oldage Pension at Rs. 150 p.m to destitute old men and women, subject to the condition that he should be of more than 60 years and his total income should not exceed Rs. 6000/-.

ii) Rehabilitation Allowance to Lepers : Under this scheme department is providing Rehabilitation allowance at Rs. 170/- p.m to those persons who suffering with Leprocy.

iii) Oldage Home : Oldage Home are being run by the department in the state where free lodging and Boarding is provided.

3.  Women Welfare

i) Widow Pension : Under this scheme department is providing Widow Pension at Rs. 150/- p.m to those widow's whose annual income is less than Rs. 6000/-.

ii) State Home : The department is running 3 State Home in Mandi, Shimla and Chamba district for the destitute  Girl / Women and providing all facilities including training to those inmates admitted in the State Home.

iii) Marriage Grant to Destitute Girl : Under this scheme the department is granting a sum of Rs. 2500/- for the marriage of Destitute Girls irrespective of any caste.

4.  Welfare of Disabled Persons having 40 % Disability

i) Disability Relief Allowance : Under this scheme department is granting Disability Relief Allowance at Rs. 150/- p.m to those disables having 40% disability and whose annual income is less than Rs. 6000/-.

ii) Free Travelling in H.R.T.C Buses : Under this scheme this department is issuing a Identity Card to those persons who are disable with 40% disability. The I-Card is valid   for free travelling in H.R.T.C buses.

iii) Handicapped Scholarship : Under this scheme the department is granting Handicapped Scholarship to all Handicapped Students having 40% or more disability and their Parents annual income should not be more than Rs. 60,000 per annum.

iv) Marriage Grant to Handicapped : A grant of Rs. 5000/- is being granted by this department to all those Boys/Girls who marry with a Handicapped Girls/Boys having 40% or more disability.

v) Special School for Disable : Special school for different kind of disables are being run in the state where free lodging boarding & education is provided. Beside this school for orphan/semi-orphan children are also being run in the state.

vi) Assistance to Disable Persons for Purchase/Fitting of AIDS/Appliences (ADIP Scheme) : A currently sponsored scheme called "ADIP" is also beingIssue of Hearing Pad implemented in Bilaspur district. Under this scheme appliances are being provided to those disable persons having 40% or more disability and whose annual income is less than Rs. 60,000/-.
